If you are asking how you might help The Anchorage, attached is a list of ways you might be able to do just that.  In-kind donations such as washers, dryers, lawn equipment, postage stamps, pencils, copy paper, etc... are just a few things that are constantly needed.  We are always looking for volunteers.  Don't miss an opportunity to feel good about doing some good.  Call for me details.  And finally, we need your financial assistance.  Whatever amount you are able to give is sufficient for us to continue this ministry.

The Anchorage, Inc., is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, Christ-based organization dedicated to the rehabilitation of men whose lives have been ravaged by alcohol/drug addiction.

The Anchorage Addiction has no boundaries. It affects all economic, racial, and spiritual groups. Our clients range from successful, well-educated professionals to the hourly shift workers. Addiction makes these men one in the same. At The Anchorage, there are no special treatments provided based on education level, income, race, or depth of spirituality. Each man is here for one purpose: to overcome his addiction. Our goal is to help show him the path to productivity.

Our doors are open to men above the age of 18 who have successfully completed a 5-day detoxification period, have no outstanding warrants or court dates, no serious health problems, and are comfortable in a Christian environment.

There is absolutely no charge to clients for Phase I of our program. This program is totally supported by Phase II of our program, organizations, churches, and individuals throughout the community and state.

The Anchorage has deep roots in the community and the word of Christ. Our story began in 1953, when the Hudson Malone Sunday School Class of the First United Methodist Church of Albany faced the challenge of trying to aid a person with alcoholism. After several unsuccessful attempts, the group located a Christ-based alcohol rehab center, Bethel Colony of Mercy, in Lenoir, North Carolina. The man entered the facility where he received spiritual counseling. The teaching opened his eyes to his need for Christ to replace his need for alcohol.

Dormitory Room The Sunday school class soon recognized the need for such a program in Southwest Georgia. They established and incorporated The Anchorage, Inc. in Leesburg, GA.  In 1987, the program was expanded to accommodate all substance addictions. The program relies on contributions from individuals, churches, businesses, and civic groups.

In 2003, The Anchorage celebrated 50 years of service. The ministry has grown past our neighbors in Southwest Georgia to include individuals from across the United States. To date, The Anchorage has served over 13,000 men.

The Anchorage, Inc. is a vital ministry which needs your prayers and financial contributions to continue to provide a place of refuge and recovery for those caught in the bondage of addiction. To God be the Glory!
