Have you visited the Anchorage lately?

We have had a number of improvements completed and several more still being completed at this time. This all was made possible through a grant designated for these improvements that we applied for and received in December of 2007. On any 2nd and/or 4th Thursday of any month, we would like to have you come visit and tour our facilities. This tour and lunch starts at 12 noon and ends promptly at 1:15pm.
We look forward to your visit soon!

From the Director's Desk

How many times have you seen this sign, more importantly this person? (A sign that says, "will work for food"?)Albany First United Methodist Church is trying to help meet the need by feeding over 200 people on Sunday nights to help fight hunger and to also feed the soul with spiritual nourishment. The men of the Anchorage know all too well about the need for spiritual healing as well. We recently had the pleasure of sharing a meal with this great group of people from all over downtown Albany. During this time, several of the Anchorage clients shared their testimonies and encouraged the entire group on-hand. As much as these men are here to receive addiction help and spiritual healing, they are also learning about giving back to this community for what they have so generously given to us. As the Executive Director of the Anchorage, I want to sincerely thank each of you for what you do and have done for the Anchorage and for this community. Historically, the summer months have usually proven to be lean income months and I want to encourage you not to forget the Anchorage. These men truly need your help. As you prepare your budgets to meet the increasingly difficult financial crisis, I warmly ask that you continue supporting this ministry in whatever way possible. Thanks so much from the bottom of my heart!

HAPPENINGS…

In addition to Albany First United Methodist, we have had the opportunity to speak at  Covenant Presbyterian, and Christ United Methodist during the past month. Thanks to all of these churches for allowing us to come and share.

Thanks to Tommy Thornton and the entire Dougherty County Kiwanis group for allowing me to come and present a program about the Anchorage. What an awesome club!
