Our Leadership

We are blessed to have a staff dedicated to Christ and to the clients of The Anchorage. It is the responsibility of the Board of Directors to ensure that The Anchorage has superb leadership.

Executive Director

Keith GainesKeith Gaines came to the Anchorage as Executive Director in October, 2011. Originally from Macon, he has lived in the Albany area for the past 20+ years. His background includes the pastoral ministry and alcohol and drug addiction treatment programming and administration.

 

Prior to coming to the Anchorage he served Troy University as Assistant Site Director of the Albany site. Previous employment includes First Baptist Church of Albany and Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Gaines earned the M.S. degree in Counseling & Psychology from Troy University, the Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, and the Bachelor of Arts degree from Mercer University.

He also serves as pastor of the Edison Baptist Church in Edison, GA and has been a volunteer Hunter Safety Education instructor for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources for over 15 years. His hobbies and interests include hunting and fishing, playing guitar, singing, and, with his wife Dianne, working in the yard and providing a backyard habitat for watching birds and other wildlife. They also enjoy spending time with their four grandchildren.

Clinical Director

Dudley ThomasA native of Morven, Georgia, Mr. Dudley Thomas, Jr. is the Clinical Director. He counsels each potential client prior to acceptance into the program. He works with each client privately as well as collectively.

Mr. Thomas has a BA in Organization Leadership from LaGrange College and an Associates Degree in Human Services Technology from Darton College. In addition, he has completed multiple internships in South Georgia at Dougherty County Mental Health, Georgia Dual Diagnosis Treatment Center, and Turning Point Hospital.

Mr. Thomas is a retired Sergeant Major of the United States Army. He and his wife Beverlyn have four daughters and two sons.

Spiritual Director

Richard BrookerA native son of Jesup, Georgia, Judge Richard (Rick) Brooker is a very dedicated man of God who teaches the Word to the Anchorage clients several nights a week. He also holds church services at 6 p.m. every Sunday.

Judge Brooker’s responsibilities include Bible teaching and Spiritual guidance to the clients. He has been with The Anchorage since 2002 and has more than 30 years of service in ministry. He has held many positions both in the ministry and in the judicial system. From youth director to Associate Juvenile Court Judge, his experience helps him to provide the spiritual guidance the men need. Both he and his wife, Pam, currently reside in Sylvester, GA with five of their seven sons and one daughter.

Executive Assistant

Robin BarryMrs. Robin Barry joined "The Anchorage Team" in 2007. She has 15 years of office and clerical experience. She is a lifelong resident of the Albany/Leesburg area and graduated from Albany High School in 1982. She also attended Albany Junior College, now known as Darton College. The mother of three girls she currently lives in Sumter County with her husband Bernie.
